Think Safe Live Well, City of Marion’s health, safety and wellbeing program, not only considers zero harm but also considers the health of staff whilst at work and at home. This program aims to ensure that people leave work feeling better than when they arrived. Leadership has played a key role in ensuring that health and wellbeing has been embedded in the council’s culture and day to day practices.

SafeWork SA promote and encourage safe, fair and productive working lives in South Australia, so it’s understandable that they strive to create this environment within their own workplace. The formation of Wellbeing Group to support the creation of their health and wellbeing program was a positive starting point, generating a program from a collaboration of ideas and planning to now include healthy choice intranet resources, a calendar of regular health activities and other onsite facilities that encourage healthy choices.

Rotorua Lakes Council finds gold in staff wellbeing

The WorkWell programme supports signed-up workplaces through a framework designed to meet what the staff want to achieve in the areas of organizational, environmental and individual change to improve wellbeing. Organisations can work towards bronze, silver and gold accreditation. Rotorua Lakes Council achieved gold in February 2018.
